We believe that every Filipino child should have equal opportunity to a quality basic education. When school supplies and technology are scarce or unavailable, efficiency of last mile schools is compromised; resulting in systemic absenteeism or dropouts.
In the last 16 years, Black Pencil Project observed an increased participatory rate and reduced dropout rate amongst pilot schools visited yearly or more. Study shows that free provisions of school supplies are contributory in reducing late enrollment, and absenteeism; resulting in a higher survival or completion ratio of last mile schools learners.
Learners in need receive a minimum of three (3) pencils along with other basic school supplies such us pad papers, notebooks and crayons every year.
Black Pencil Project up to this date has benefited over 25,000+ Kinder to Grade 10, Alternative Learning System students and partner educators in the Philippines.
